Our gas heat labor call rate is very reasonable but we do charge a two hour minimum. However, at times when needed, also if it falls within the two hour period, we will throw in a precision gas tune-up free of charge so that our repair lasts a long time. Also when you call us for a malfunctioning gas heat appliance it may turn out to be just a needed tune-up that has to be properly executed. Along with a precision tune-up we also assess the current mechanical state of your gas furnace or boiler. Gas Heat Service or Repairs may consist of the following: mechanical or electronic thermostat problem, electrical switch, boiler or furnace open wiring or shorting out, and or fuse/breaker problems.

Blower motor failures that help the boiler or furnace start to provide air flow especially on forced air systems with air conditioning will render a gas heating system inoperative. That is why motor function is essential in gas heating whether it is for a boiler or furnace. Many times motors in gas heating are needed to pre-purge the burners. Also if it is equipped with a power burner, this type of gas heating equipment will certainly utilize a motor as part of its operation. If you have a boiler with a hot water system to distribute heat, it will also require fully functioning circulator pump(s), aquastat, and individual thermostats if equipped with multiple zone valves. With gas steam boilers, rust in the system is the predominant cause of failures in piping, radiators, air vents, safety valves, and of the boiler itself. However, we can install a rust neutralizing agent plus clean the dirty sight glass if you have a gas fired steam boiler in order to help minimize rust induced problems. If the pipes are rusted or leaking on steam or hot water gas boilers we offer HVAC plumbing that utilizes heavy duty copper or galvanized piping especially on areas of where it is submerged below water level. We also install gas piping using black steel. Incidentally, we are also certified to install Trac Pipe.
A part of our precision gas heat tune-up we also perform lubrication or cleaning of its air vents where it is needed such as with certain types of circulator pumps, air handler blower motor, and the blower motor for the burner.
When it comes to gas furnace or boiler efficiency, a clean heat exchanger is a must as this helps absorption of the heat as it is being produced by the gas burner. We also provide this type of service as well as cleaning the base of chimney. We also do chimney repairs, flue pipe replacements, and install chimney liners.
 A clean unrestricted chimney is essential for the safe and proper exhaustion of combustion gases. A dirty heat exchanger in a gas furnace or boiler along with a restricted chimney will produce soot, lower a gas boiler or furnace efficiency, plus cause unhealthy and dangerous conditions such as with carbon monoxide poisoning.

Then call us to make the necessary diagnosis and repairs to the gas piping. Typically the gas provider will only make repairs where the gas meter is connected. Propane is treated differently as it could accumulate in low lying areas making it very dangerous if not ventilated properly. Either way, natural gas or propane gas should be handled properly as both could cause explosions.
